Workers Comp To Cover PTSD For First Responders

This is amazing news for first responders in the state of Florida.  Starting October 1st, PTSD is now covered under Workers Compensation without the need for physical injury.  Previous legislation required physical injury that required treatment to accompany the diagnosis of PTSD in order to be covered.  Not anymore under Senate bill 376.

A new law will take effect next month that expands workers’ compensation benefits for firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, law enforcement officers and other first responders.
