Can Medical Marijuana Treat PTSD?

Medical marijuana, not doubt a hot topic for many.

This is a pretty solid article on a recent study done (with mentions of the results published in the journal Neuropsychopharmacology) which shows evidence that cannabinoids can have a very effective treatment for the symptoms of PTSD.  For the most part, there is not a whole lot of empirical evidence to prove marijuana’s efficacy either way.

Regardless of my personal beliefs, cannabis is a political talking point for the time being.  Veterans Affairs Canada is willing to reimburse up to a certain amount, which, if it works for people, then awesome.  From a scientific standpoint, if it is true that not much research has been done (which I don’t believe personally, then much more needs to be done, and quickly.

The usual methods of treatment are prescription medication and therapy, however, some studies suggest that cannabis could be very beneficial to patients suffering from PTSD. Cannabis has shown to reduce or even eliminate symptoms caused from PTSD.
